When a child is between the age of 6 and 8, he/she might need a computer. This video from the Wall Street Journal provides us with several choices of computer you can buy for your child. However, before buying a brand-new computer, you might want to consider handing your old and unused computer for your child. Reusing unused computer might save you some money, but you may have to do some repairs and update the OS first. If that is not possible, there are several computers out there that are suitable for your child, such as:
- A desktop computer such as an iMac, or and HP Envy systems which will cost you upwards of $1000.
- A laptop such as Dell Inspiron 11 which you can buy for $600. This laptop comes with a full-fledged Windows 10 operating system and is equipped with a touchscreen monitor.
- A tablet like the Apple iPad which your child can use for creative projects using apps downloadable from the appstore. However, the price of an iPad can go much higher if you also include some extra accessories.
- A Chromebook, which despite not being as capable as an iPad, is very cheap (only $300) and is also perfectly suitable for your child that spends most of her/his time on the internet.
